I don't remember if I've mentioned this. As I was checking out new movies online, I thought of this movie I watched a while ago, "little miss sunshine". It's basically a movie about an average american family, and shortly after the movie started the family went on a road trip because the youngest daughter was going to participate in a children beauty pagent. The part of the movie before the trip pretty much gave each character and intro and hint that a road trip with all these ppl in the car was gonna be interesting, if not disasterous. It was a really cute movie, if you haven't catch it yet I strongly recommend it. If you like movies like 'big fish' or 'eulogy', this would be something in between, kinda of. I didn't have any expectation for the movie before I went, because my roomate pretty much just ask me to go with him 30 mins before the movie started. I was pleasantly surprised, and I like the guy from "40 year old virgin" a whole lot more after watching him in this one.

Personally I'm a big fan of movies about dysfunctional families, and the new movie ('running with scissors') that's coming out sounds like an interesting movie for the exact reason. Everyone is probably a weirdo by himself/herself, and maybe not the greatest to hang out with. When it comes to family you put up with it. In the movies, at least.

Sometimes all you need is one bad news to spoil your day. Today, unfortunately is one of those days. I found out early in the afternoon that it takes 3-5 months to get my passport renewed here. 3-5 months. I don't know who decided that was acceptable, whoever it was must have not lived in a foreign country, because it is ridiculous. The embassy told me they have to send it back to M'sia for processing. Well, I thought that's what a foreign embassy is for, so you can do things like that when you are away? Doesn't it only takes 3 days back home? What kind of mail service are they using? Pigeons? Whatever genius reasons they have, I really don't care. I mean, how could they not see that 3-5 months is a stupidly long time to be in a foreign country without a passport? Other than the fact that you are stuck the moment you mail your passport out for as long as it takes, you don't have that one piece of ID you need in almost any government related issue. The time has come... I keep seeing wedding/engagement pictures/announcement popping up on facebook. I'm sure very soon I'll see baby pics popping up like spring bamboo shoots after the rain (I think that is the literal translation). If you are one of those who ask, "How about you?" Then you can be friends with my mom. If you are nodding your head and thinking that kind of reality check is kinda scary/crazy but you will shrug it off anyways, we can be friends. If you think I'm conflicted/bitter because of what I hinted at in the last post.. then I say thank you for paying way too much attention, but my head hurt so I might have been delusional. It would be kinda weird though, if I were to return. It would feel like suddenly everyone is 10 years older, with their respective others, career, babies etc. And all I have been doing was learning to live with myself. There is so much catching up to do.
